Common Sense Tactical is a veteran-owned online store specializing in the supply of the finest ballistic shield sling (BSS) on the market. With a deep understanding of tactical needs from both police and military perspectives, our founders ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality, providing you with the best tools for your tactical requirements.

John Stubbs has dedicated his life to service. He became an Eagle Scout before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 2001, serving in F Co, 51st Infantry (Airborne) (LRSC) with three overseas deployments, including the 2003 Iraq invasion.

After active duty, he earned a Political Science degree from Texas A&M (Class of 2010) while leading the Corps NRA Collegiate Pistol team to back-to-back national championships. His shooting skills earned him an Olympic team tryout.

John later worked as a 911 dispatcher before becoming a police officer in 2012, serving with Bryan and League City PDs, achieving his Master Peace Officer License by 2023. A lifelong history enthusiast, he joined the Society for Creative Anachronism, where his passion for medieval martial arts influenced the development of the Ballistic Shield Sling.

Patrick Bradshaw has worn many hats throughout his career. After high school, he worked various trades before joining the U.S. Army in 2000 as a light wheel vehicle mechanic. Assigned to the 293rd MP Company, he cross-trained as a field MP and deployed to the Pentagon for force protection after 9/11. Honorably discharged in 2003, he worked as an ASE Master Automotive Technician before serving in the Texas National Guard (2005-2007) and transitioning to law enforcement.

Pat joined the League City Police Department in 2007, working in Traffic, Patrol, Marine Patrol, Training, Honor Guard, Crash Reconstruction, and SWAT. He earned his Master Peace Officer License in 2017 and completed Advanced Force Science training in 2018. During his ten years on SWAT, he served as an explosive breacher, sniper, and entry team leader. Now a Lieutenant and Training Coordinator, he specializes in firearms, breaching, and ballistic shield instruction, playing a key role in developing a new shield training program.Shooter Eve
